Campus Ministry at UMW
Trinity has a long connection with Campus Ministry. Currently the Episcopal-Lutheran Ministry to UMW is supported by Trinity, Our Diocese, St. George's Episcopal Church and Christ Lutheran. See below for ways you can get involved with the students by participating in their Tuesday Evening dinners, and providing school supplies.
Trinity Helping Micah
Build the Jeremiah Community
Many Trinitarians will remember Micah Ecumenical Ministries started in
the basement of Jamison Hall with food, clothes, tents, showers, and someone
to listen.
Twenty years later, Micah has developed a vision of a life-sharing
community of small houses to be known as the Jeremiah Community where
neighbors can live affordably, have purpose, and develop relationships. Micah
has acquired land near Bragg Hill which has been rezoned.
The Micah Board has asked each of the the founding churches to raise the cost of a house, about $60,000. Our Vestry approved a special offering to support the
Jeremiah Community after several donors have already made significant
commitments.
There is currently an opportunity for Micah to receive a generous matching gift up to
$100,000. Click here for more information about the Jeremiah Community.
You may write a check payable to Trinity Church, write Jeremiah in the memo
space and put it in the offering plate or mail it to 825 College Ave Fredericksburg, VA 22401 OR you may go to Trinity’s website, click on donate, and pick Jeremiah in the drop-down menu.
Micah has an excellent video celebrating the first twenty years of support to our community. Click here to see it.
Thank you in advance for supporting the Jeremiah Community and Micah.
Questions? See Cory Gudowicz or Harry Dickinson, We thank Cory Gudowicz for his service as Trinity’s representative to the Micah board.
"Blessings IN A Backpack"
This is the name of a program where we provide food (not backpacks) to school Children who may not have enough to eat over the weekend. We pack the food to be given to the kids at the school so they can take them home on Fridays. We purchase the supplies with the donations provided by Trinity. You can make a difference in the live of a child on our community.
Floor Waxing and Polishing
It will be done when people are not typically around the 10 days.... If you see a sign saying you should avoid an area, please take note.
Coffee Hour on 3-day weekends
Sign up for Sunday before Labor Day
Trinity is so grateful to have BJ running "Cafe Trinity" most weeks. BJ is not on duty when there is a three-day weekend.
It does not need to be as "Fancy" as what BJ does but we wonder if there are volunteers who would provide for "Mini-Cafe" by putting out simple snacks, make coffee and clean up afterwards on those three day weekends.
There is a sign-up on a clipboard in the Narthex.

Bible Study on Hebrews - Thursdays, 10:00 am
We are looking at the Book of Hebrews. All are welcome to join us - Aug 21st when we will look at Hebrews Chapters 11-13.
In Hebrews 12 we find the image of life as a race, urging us to let go of the things holding us back and putting our eyes on Jesus. It’s not just speed; the journey is about discipline, perseverance, and faith. We are not alone in the journey - Hebrews reminds us we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP, AUG 18th 10:30am - Noon
Trinity's monthly Grief Support Group will meet August 18th. Come join us if you are a griever. Our goal is to learn to grieve in a healthy way. It's in the sharing that participants typically are surprised to find themselves not only being a learner but a teacher as well. Each meeting begins with reading a selection from Martha W. Hickman's HEALING AFTER LOSS followed by a short discussion related to various components of living with grief. This months topic is "Time Heals All Wounds, Or Does It." Next we have an open discussion with time for participants to share the questions and realities of their individual grief journeys. The group meets in the Lounge on the ground floor. Park in the William St. lot and enter using the left door. Please direct any questions and concerns to Randall Clingenpeel at 540-207-0600.
Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministry
The Diocese of Virginia, Trinity Episcopal Church, St. George's Episcopal Church and Christ Lutheran Church collaborate to offer the resources of "The House" to UMW and Germanna students. The house itself is owned by DMS (The Diocesan Missionary Society). Parishioners from all three congregations work together to provide a meal for students on Tuesday evenings.
Sign up to bring dinner to our campus ministry one Tuesday this semester!
Our campus ministry is looking forward to welcoming students back for the fall semester that begins on August 25th!
Tuesday evenings 15-20 students gather at the House for dinner, fellowship, and learning. Sign up for a Tuesday HERE. Sign up in pairs or in groups, or opt to give pizza money for a week. Contact our Campus Minister with questions Fr. Ethan at missioner@thehousefxbg.org.
Support UMW students with a school supplies drive/giveaway You're invited to support our UMW campus ministry's start of semester school supplies drive and giveaway! The House members are gathering school supplies to give away on campus. They welcome notebooks, post-its, pens, pencils, highlighters... the works. Anything left after the give away day will go to the school's student resource center. It was a huge hit last fall and everybody was so surprised and grateful for the gesture. Click the link here to use the Amazon wishlist. If you want to purchase things yourself, drop them off at Trinity. Someone will get them to the House for you. Questions? Contact Fr. Ethan at missioner@thehousefxbg.org.
