Trinity offers prayers for those we care for in several ways. There is a prayer minister at the back of the church during communion who will pray for individuals. Any thing you may say is kept confidential so your name will not automatically go on to our other prayer lists unless you make the request.
There is a prayer list in this newsletter maintained by Michelle. You can add names by contacting here (and let us know when it is time to remove the names as well. Please pray with us for the people named here.
The Daughters of the King has a prayer list. To be placed on the list fill out the form at the back of the church and put it in their drop box. Note: They do not pass their list to Michelle.

September 15th to October 15th - Hispanic Heritage Month. This year's theme is “Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future, embracing rich traditions, old and new.”
October 25th Celtic Eucharist at Trinity 5pm
After a couple of months of discussion and planning, several members of Trinity have planned a Celtic Eucharist service for October 25th. This will be a quiet service with readings, prayers and reflection. Candles will begin to glow as the sunlight on the stained glass window begins to fade.
October 26th - 4-6pm, Benefit Concert and Hymn Sing for the Jeremiah Community followed by a small reception in Barber Hall. Jessica Smith has volunteered to supply the cake.
November 8th (Saturday) Trinity will be sponsoring its Annual Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday Nov 8th in Barber Hall. We appreciate all you donors who have given in the past. If you wish to sign up early and get the best choice of times go to redcrossblood.org and search by dates for our drive. If not, we will be signing up donors in person as the date draws near. Please consider becoming a donor and giving the gift of life to someone.

The Pet Committee has treats for all of our furry friends who join us.
The pet blessing will be followed by the dedication of our new Pet Memorial Garden and internment of a few pets.at 11am.

Trinity Italian Dinner
October 13th
Top off your holiday weekend on Monday, October 13th from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the annual Trinity Italian Dinner in Barber Hall.
Pasta (including gluten free) topped with your choice of homemade tomato or Alfredo sauces, meatballs, garlic bread, salad, and beverages for all ages will provide a memorable evening of good food and fellowship.
All proceeds support the outreach efforts of Trinity's Chapter of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew. Mangia! Mangia!
Food Pantry Outreach
Thanks so much to everyone who has been bringing us food for the food pantry. So far this year, through September, we have fed 1475 families. Some are first-timers — we are seeing more and more of those — and others are regular customers.
We have paid about $27,000 mostly to turn someone's water or electricity back on, in $100 increments, no more than once every six months, through September, for residents of Fredericksburg City or Spotsylvania or Stafford counties.
We are now keeping track of who is new and who is not new so will have a little data on that by the end of the year. It appears about half our clients are first-timers with us.
There is so much need right now, and we anticipate that will increase if the government furlough and lay-offs continue very long. We are shopping at the food bank weekly, as well as supplementing with staplels from Walmart most weeks. And you all are keeping the red wagon filled and also bringing us food many days of the week.
While we understand it'll never be enough, we do believe Trinity is making a significant difference in the hunger atrocity in our area. Thank you so much for your dedication to this commitment.

Blessings in a Backpack -- Outreach
Our Blessings in a Backpack team prepares bags of food for children to take home for the weekends when they may not be enough to eat over the weekend. School counselors make sure the food goes to the kids with the greatest need. This long standing program (15 years+) at Trinity needs volunteers to help pack the bags and cash donations to pay for the supplies. We are concerned about running out of funds in the weeks ahead. Our 60 bags each week are combined with the bags from other organizations to take care of children in our local community. Thank you for your assistance.

Benefit Concert and Hymn Sing for the Jeremiah Community - October 26th, 4-6pm
This event culminates Trinity's efforts to raise money for one of the houses being built for the Jeremiah Community. We will announce our total gathering shortly after the concert

Jeremiah Property Tours
The Jeremiah Board is offering tours of the property and an opportunity to learn about this important was to help people get back on their feet.
See Cory Gudowicz, Trinity’s representative to the Micah board for information about the tours. There is also information about the Jeremiah Community near the front doors of the church.

Trinity has a long connection with Campus Ministry. Currently the Episcopal-Lutheran Ministry to UMW is supported by Trinity, our Diocese, St. George's Episcopal Church and Christ Lutheran Church. See below for ways you can get involved with the students.

Trinity Photo Directory - Last Call
Please get your picture taken for the directory so our next priest will get to know everyone. The picture directory will show active members, regular participants and other faces our next rector may see on a regular basis.
After the 8:00 am and 10:30 am services we will take pictures in the Hospitality room. This is not a professional product - no need to "dress up". You can also stop in Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm to have your photo taken. I
Once the directory is complete, parishioners will also be able to get a copy.

Several upgrades have taken place to add some more elbow room, to update items on the shelves and to update the catalogue.

On Sundays the room is open for adults with small children. We do not mind the noises from our more vocal church members, but we know there are times when you want to take a child to another room for a few minutes.

Members of the Trinity Sunday School class spent Friday through Sunday, the 26th to 28th of September enjoying Shrine Mont, our Diocesan Conference Center.
Arriving just in time to eat dinner. The first activity was a "scavenger hunt". We didn’t actually plan it: the light was fading as we went to find our rooms at Woodward Camp. It was a place that a few of us seen before on all our previous trips to the mountain. Finding the correct turns on the leaf covered gravel road, in the dusk, was a challenge.
We found our space and figured out who was going to get which room. The next part of the scavenger hunt was sheets and towels, which typically are in the rooms, but we’re not this time. Still, it all worked out everyone was grateful for Andrea who took on the task of making all the beds.
The rest of the evening was spent playing games, figuring out some puzzles, and praying compline together before we went to bed. The air conditioning in the building made that much more comfortable.

When we awoke in the morning, we discovered that there was no power. Anywhere. Not only did we lose power at Woodward but we learned that all of Shrine Mont and the neighbors as far as Bayse were experiencing life as it was in the 1940s!
The road leading to our site was closed to traffic but we hiked through the woods to breakfast, so it did not matter.
Shrine Mont staff did a fantastic job of dealing with the challenge, charging up a generator, which provided them enough electricity to cook bacon, eggs and all the fixins.

We joined eight other congregations for breakfast.
Later, we learned a driver had accidentally knocked out a pole in the middle of the night.
The food throughout the weekend was great.
Power was restored at 11 am so we continued our planned activities. There was a good discussion in the morning continuing the materials used in Sunday School. After lunch, we had a discussion about prayer, including a labyrinth walk. The youth also had a "real" scavenger hunt.
Although we had light rain throughout the day on Saturday, it did not dampen and our enthusiasm for being in such a beautiful place.

Sunday morning was a clear blue sky while we worshiped at the shrine with St. Thomas (Richmond)
The stone at the entrance to the labyrinth had a cross like our Trinity cross etched on it.
Trinity Episcopal Church will host its annual Rise Against Hunger meal packing event on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Our goal is to raise $4,500, which will provide 11,016 meals to help fight hunger in communities around the world. Since Trinity began partnering with Rise Against Hunger in 2007, we’ve packaged 100,000 meals!
